MiNET

MiNET is the association responsible for providing Internet access to residents of MAISEL, the campus student residence. We provide a stable wired connection and Wi-Fi across all buildings, thanks to infrastructure managed end-to-end by passionate student volunteers: 📡 150 Wi-Fi access points, 🔌 40 switches, 🖥️ 20 servers. MiNET also offers services for members: an association calendar, a virtual machine hosting service, a campus music site, collaborative tools, and highly active technical support. Above all, MiNET is a community adventure open to everyone—whether tech-savvy or not, beginners or the simply curious. Key projects for the 2026–2027 academic year 🛜 Wi-Fi equipment upgrade A major initiative demonstrating our commitment to modernizing our infrastructure. Members themselves are handling the replacement of access points to ensure better coverage across all buildings and faster Wi-Fi speeds. 🎤 MiNET Conference A highlight open to the entire campus: talks on computer networking topics, discussions, and explorations of digital culture—plus a post-event social gathering to chat with the speakers. 🔧 Continuous infrastructure improvement Any active member can propose a project (technical or otherwise), carry it out, document it, and sometimes even deploy it into production. This is the heart of knowledge sharing at MiNET. No prior technical background is required to join. We are looking for students who are curious, motivated, and ready to build things together with others. MiNET is all about learning, mutual aid, sharing, and a genuine community spirit.
